Half Day Legal Conference @ IRSC Mueller Campus 1 pm - 5 pm
Session 1: David Miklas discussing the duty to reasonably accommodate: Disability, Religion, and Pregnancy
Session 2: Louis Wilson will present an update on hot topics and legal developments impacting the workplace, including the latest on new federal and state laws and agency actions, like the FTC’s efforts to challenge non-compete agreements and the NLRB’s attempt to limit inclusion of confidentiality and non-disparagement language in severance and settlement agreements.
Learning Objectives:
- Educate employers and HR professionals on the latest developments in employment law
- Aid employers and HR professionals in understanding best practices from an HR attorney perspective in common scenarios they face.
- Identify areas for improvement or changes that may need to be implemented to ensure workplace legal compliance and avoid possible legal claims
Session 3: Staying Alive – Can you save the Company: HR to the Rescue: A lively and interactive session to put your HR skills to the test.
Session 4: Angelique Lyons - A Groovy Game – HR Style: This interactive session will give you a chance to test your knowledge on a range of HR topics. The program will cover issues under Title VII, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, COBRA and a bunch of other “far out” topics.

- Increase knowledge and understanding of laws impacting human resources including Title VII, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, COBRA and others.
- Develop strategies for addressing issues that arise under the employment laws.
- Provide practical tips for ensuring compliance with employment laws.
